We were approached by a multi-location John Deere Dealership that offers both new and used equipment for farming or ranching operational needs. The dealership first opened its doors back in the late 90’s and prides itself on service, honesty and integrity. They have expanded their footprint into three states including Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas.
Our client was looking for a scalable solution that could be deployed to their existing footprint as contracts and business needs allowed.
In March of 2018, our client set out to acquire another large local company. The acquisition of new locations allowed them to double their footprint. The business was looking for a solution provider that offered managed network, unified communications, SD-WAN and managed Wi-Fi access to migrate all ten locations within 60 days. Reporting, standardized business policies, and consolidated billing and support were all deciding factors for a new solution provider.
We faced a tight deadline with rural locations that are known to have limited reliable network options. The migration required detailed planning, and a well-defined training and site execution plan. In addition, it also required labor-intensive scrubbing of existing products that had to be assumed for newly-acquired company and migrated to a single solution provider.

Bluewave was selected to help gather requirements across multiple departments and stakeholders while identifying the most appropriate Unified Communication as a Service (UCaaS) and Network provider.
We first set out to define each location’s user count and requirements. We worked closely with our client’s finance and IT departments to understand the unique requirements per location. We also worked closely to understand and define the long-term strategy so a solution provider could be sourced that would allow them to scale for additional growth.
Per Bluewave’s suggestion, MegaPath (now Fusion) was sourced to provide UCaaS and network connectivity along with managed SD-WAN and Wi-Fi. This new solution provides reliable, flexible, future-proof voice and collaboration along with alerting and 24/7 support and notifications. In addition, we were able to help significantly reduce the upfront spend traditionally found in premises-based voice solutions. Our expertise in deploying thousands of nodes of network and UCaaS seats was instrumental in the project’s success. Not a single minute of business was missed in the migration from a Cisco premises-based solution and complex network migration to the new solution sourced.
Our client has continued an outstanding working relationship with Fusion and Bluewave. They have since acquired six additional locations and seamlessly migrated the UCaaS and network with minimal impact to the business. We also continue to be a value-added 3rd party resource for the IT Manager.
A strong working relationship, frequently reviewing business goals and technology demands is ongoing. Solutions are delivered on time and on budget allowing the IT staff to focus on other strategic goals.
